Polaroid I Zone mini scanner called the "Webster":
This is more fun than one person should have. It's a little scanner that's battery powered (four AAA's). Looks kind of like a lint shaver only it comes with software and stuff. It's made to compliment the I Zone camera - to scan its tiny photos. I've used it for that, but it's much more fun to use it to scan "stuff". Take it with you... it holds 20 images ... after that, you've gotta download. But meanwhile you can scan coins, menus, fonts, body parts, insects, etc. I tried to put a lens on it and use it like a camera, but that didn't work. I'll just bet there's a way to do pinhole with it! I've had fun printing small images from the Webster, but I don't believe one would obtain much in the way of quality from an 8x10, if you know what I mean. I think I'm going to try that tomorrow though... I'll let you know how it goes.

It's just the coolest little thing! |

You flip open the rubber piece and set the scanner on whatever it is you want to scan. |

I was messing around with it and the cat came up to smell it, so I took his picture. |
He's a pencil eraser. I smashed the scanner up to him. |
Gross. |

Gala stuff. |
Does better with flat images, but I like the macro-ness of it. Bet a could scan a bee. |
|
Yeah I can. |
When I make sure I have a good seal with the rubber, I get better light.

Fabulous jewels! |
The Webster as a useful tool: I'm working on some Argus pinhole cameras called "Argholes". I needed to get some images for the special logo so I took the Webster to the grocery store in search of donuts to scan. My quest was successful!
A cinnamon donut.
